Calling all Mars and space advocates! Mark your calendars for the 2024 International Mars Society Convention, taking place Thursday, August 8th through Sunday, August 11th at the University of Washington campus (The HUB) in Seattle. This annual event, now in its 27th year, remains the premier global gathering focused on Mars exploration, human settlement planning, and cutting-edge space-related topics.

The convention will bring together a diverse array of experts including scientists, engineers, aerospace executives, policymakers, journalists, and space enthusiasts to discuss humanity’s journey to the planet Mars in the coming years. This year’s theme, “The Road to Mars,” reflects the growing momentum and public interest in the exploration and potential colonization of the Red Planet.

Attendees can expect to witness and interact with state-of-the-art projects showcasing how humans can live and work on Mars, including a live demonstration of MarsVR, the Mars Society’s innovative virtual reality platform designed for research and training purposes.

The four-day international event will feature a blend of in-person and virtual sessions, allowing remote participants to engage in real-time discussions, pose questions to speakers, and network with fellow attendees through online platforms.

Online registration for the Seattle event is now available. Additional ticket purchases for the convention’s Saturday evening banquet are also online.
