The Mars Society has extended the application deadlines for two major 2025 programs:
- Mars Society Poster Contest: Now due Friday, May 23, 2025 at 5:00 PM MT
- Mission to Mars Engineering Design Competition: Now due Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 5:00 PM MT
Mars Society Poster Contest (for the 2025 Convention):
Submit your original artwork around the theme “Mars: The Time Has Come!” for a chance to have your design featured as the official poster for the 28th Annual International Mars Society Convention, happening October 9–11, 2025, at USC in Los Angeles. The winning poster will be used in promotional materials and showcased at the event. Designs should be 11″ x 17″ (color or grayscale) and submitted as a PDF or Photoshop file.

Mission to Mars Engineering Design Competition (June 9–July 18, 2025):
Open to high school students ages 13–19 worldwide, this virtual summer program invites participants to work in teams to design a crewed Mars mission lasting up to 18 months. Led by Mars Society Education Director Nicole Willett, the program includes expert-led lectures, NASA-focused workshops, and collaborative mission planning covering habitats, science objectives, vehicles, and more. Great for STEM skill-building—and college apps!
