Privacy Notice
Notice of privacy for the information that you provide to the Mars Society, through this Web site and otherwise.
Personal information that is stored in our membership and web site database will not be shared outside of the Mars Society. Mars Society staff and volunteers with administrative duties may be given access to the information in the database as needed. Some of your information may also be provided to the staff of chapters or Associated Society you are a member of.
The transaction history that you can see in your preferences area is similarly not shared. This particular information is only accessible to Mars Society administrative staff.
You can control the privacy of content that you store in your folder on this web site by using the state menu. The default state of a document on creation is "visible", which means that although it will not be "pulled" to the front page (if a news item, for example), it is visible to paid Mars Society members and will be returned to them as a result of search queries. If you do not want members to see content in your folder, change the state to "private". Note that web site managers have access to all content, including "private" ones.
If you want anyone to see content in your folder, you have to request to have it published. Please read the Hints for content contributorssection of the help.
