Going into the final frontier

By Brent Maze Tuesday, January 30, 2007 6:59 PM CST

Space exploration has always been something that I've been interested in since I was young.

I always remember watching the launches on television. One of the biggest highlights of my childhood was when we went to the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. I even enjoyed going to the planetarium at Birmingham-Southern College.

I thought it might be interesting one day to be an astronaut. Obviously, I have changed since then, but I still think about what space travel might be like.

The only thing that might come close to that is to watch movies like "Star Trek" or other space-type movies. I can also watch some documentaries about the space program to help me get an idea of what happens up in space.

Since our space program began, we've seen a lot of progress. Today marks the anniversary of several of those dates.

When pulling it back up, the rope broke. They couldn`t see it at first so they went back to quad and then collected all the parts of the broken CRV. Then they learned what happened.
