The Island

by Jean Lagarde last modified 2007-02-09 17:28

Two astronauts explore the rugged surface near the North Pole of Phobos with Mars looming on the horizon. The mother ship, powered by solar energy, orbits Mars while astronauts inside remotely operate rovers on the Martian surface. The explorers have landed on Phobos in a small excursion vehicle which fires a line into the soil to anchor the unit. The astronaut on the right is examining a 1,000 pound boulder which weighs a mere pound in the low gravity of Phobos.
