Children of Mars
In: On to Mars, Colonizing a New World, edited by Zubrin, RM, and Crossman, F. Apogee Books.
This proposal is an open discussion on how to help our children reach for a future that includes Mars as a new home and a new hope. The speaker will discuss ways to help our children become "informed adults". Through education, travel, the arts, experience, etc. parents can help raise children that are open to new frontiers: such as one with Mars as an option. At this time, the timeline for manned exploration and settlement is very uncertain. Those of us who are middle-aged will never get there. However, we can do our part by getting the next generation prepared for this challenge. A new generation needs our help and guidance.
