Yuri's Night - Mars Connection

YURI'S NIGHT WORLD SPACE PARTY is an international celebration held on April 12 every year to commemorate the first human spaceflight by cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. We know of a few Mars Society connections so far, listed below, including the Mars Desert Research Station party. Let the author know if you know of others.

Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) will have 12 astronauts on Mars: crews 70 and 71. Directions at http://engineering.marssociety.com/eng06.html. RSVP required.


Rock Springs, Wyoming, 6:30-10:00 PM (organized by The Wyoming Trekkies); the party will feature model rocket launches, stargazing, rocket-shaped cookies and space-themed music; Tam Czarnik, from the Wyoming chapter, will present the Mars Direct Mission plan from 7 - 8 pm. Western Wyoming Community College gymnasium.


The San Diego YURI'S NIGHT WORLD SPACE PARTY will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at:
