Log Book for April 6, 2008
Commander's Report
Boris Yim Reporting

Today is Sunday, but we continue to work on our projects and EVA. the
first task we have every day is to check our emails. We spent lots of
time in the day reading the replying to endless emails which becomes a
bit overwhelming. It is unknown how to minimize time spent in
communications while maintaining the same level, and where
is the balance w.r.t time spent on other activities.

We have taken lots of photos, and are excited to see how good they come out
in the camera. The first EVA gave us the opportunity to tow back an ATV
when it failed, and it is fixed now. Several of us have enjoyed
discussions at the table after lunch, especially among an international
crew. We also practiced some procedures in the lab which will be useful
for our halophile sample collection project, and went our for an EVA to
find suitable sites. Solar burst were observed through the radio
telescope. Before sunset, we had model photos on the plateau west of
the Hab overlooking the Hab with Skyline Rim at the far back. Our
professional photographer considers the photos taken in MDRS above his
expectations.

We had a professionally cooked dinner with our professional photographer
tonight in the cozy Hab, and will watch the latest Star Wars episode to
see what our future may be like.
