Project: GreenHab - Plant maintenance, pH meter Calibration

Personnel:

Tulika Raj

The plants in the GreenHab were watered after 2 days. After calibrating the pH meter and soaking it in 7.00 pH buffer overnight, it was finally used in the GreenHab aquatic tanks. The pH for AT#1 was 7.83, for AT#2 was 7.45, for AT#3 was 7.49 and for AT#4 was 7.92. The temperature as shown on the pH meter during pH testing was around 17.6 to 19.4 degrees Celsius. After the pH measurements, the pH meter was cleaned and labeled as Green Hab pH meter. Around 25% of the water hyacinths were transplanted in AT#1 from AT#2. The silver insulation on the South wall of the GreenHab was partially folded to allow more sunlight to the water hyacinths in AT#1. The water hyacinth will be monitored in their new location for next 2 days. All the other plants seemed healthy.
