Journalist's Report

March 8, 2008

Stacy Sklar

It has been more then 24 hours since my arrival and I already feel like
I have done more in the last 24 hours then what I normally do at
home....that is Mars. Somehow time on Mars moves differently. At
first it seems to move slowly (at least thats what the kids tell me)
then at other times moves way too fast..”No way, it's 6 o'clock it was
just 4 o'clock a few minutes ago”. Here is a list of just a few of our
favorite (and not so favorite) things for that last 24 hours.

*Unpacking Re-supply Ship
*Cooking dinner
*Interesting conversations about space exploration
*Maintenance of Hab systems including Greenhab, Water, and Power
*Cleaning Dishes
*Playing Cards with the kids
*Having PEV Fun Time
*Spending quality time with the kids
*Testing equipment for EVA
*One EVA to the Gypsum Fields North of the hab
*One EVA to continue mapping and observing taphonomic conditions of the
fossil bed on Hab Ridge

*Emails to family and friends
*Emails to Mission Support (Thank You)!
*Watching “In the Shadow of the Moon” but not quite finishing it
*Adding to “The Don” List
*Complaining about the bad weather and not being able to go on EVA

and then there is tomorrow's to do list:

*Spending quality time with the kids
*Planning EVAs
*Testing equipment for EVA
*Cleaning and maintenance of hab
*Watching Movies
*Showers
and EVA fun time!
