EVA #13 Report

February 27, 2008

Chris Ostafew

Time:
Departed at 15:30 - Returned at 17:30
Departed: 14:32pm - Returned: 16:32pm

Crew Members:
Cassandra Marion, Aravind Seeni, Chris Ostafew

Site Location:
Lith Canyon

Transit Mode:
ATV

Objectives:
This EVA was meant to be the engineers day-off excursion. The trio set
off with Lith canyon as their destination and dinosaur bones in their
sights. The trio also hoped to find some relaxation in the Utah back
country. The excursion was also meant to test out some repairs on the
green monster.

Lessons Learned:
LOX lead an EVA for the first time and found almost immediately that
since the last time he'd been to Lith canyon, his memories of the road
and turn-offs had all blended together like the rolls in the horizon.
Luckily they all had GPS units which pointed them in the right
direction! The group then leisurely strolled into a magnificent
sub-canyon called t-rex alley in search of not just the bones but a bit
of an adventure. The trio took a brief tour through marching down the
trail of a river bed with the full understanding that they probably
wouldn't find the bones.

With the sun closing down and the group humbly satisfied by the chance
to meander down memory lane, Googly led the group back to the hab.

The green monster ran well - though it was found that the idle was set
a bit high and the transmission linkage a bit short.
