Journalist's Report
Kerry Cupit Reporting

Our days are getting more productive all the time! Today we had two of
our longest EVAs ever, with each over three hours long. Kerry and
Perry were team "K.P.M.G." (Kerry & Perry Martian Geology) and dug a
few more holes for the geology project. John, Anna and Cheryl were
team "J.A.C.O.B." (John, Anna & Cheryl Outdoor Biology) and they were
looking for salt-loving microbes for a biology project.

We're starting to feel the pinch on our food supplies. Technically we
have lots of food, but we're each running out of our personal stashes
of comfort food. Chocolate is running out, juice crystals are rare,
trail mix is non-existant and we've eaten one of our last few fresh
fruits. On the plus side we have enough freeze-dried food to easily
last the mission.

Our engineers are making great progress on the hot water situation.
Ice cold showers that take your breath away are almost a thing of the
past. We now have water about two degrees warmer than before, arguably
improving the shower situation. It's a battle of wits for crew
members... every four days.

Also, our "Green Monster" was field tested today making it the first
time this affectionately named ATV has ventured away from our living
area since it was brought back to life. It's quirky, very noisy and
scary to drive, but it's working. Kudos again to our brilliant
engineers.

Michele enlightened the crew with a presentation on his "intelligent"
robots research after dinner tonight. A snack plate of sliced
chocolate bars and apples accompanied, and we were left psychologically
and physiologically satisfied.
