Perry Edmundson Reporting

EVA #17 Report

Time:
Departed at 10:17; Returned at 13:48

Crew Members:
Kerry Cupit, Perry Edmundson

Site Location:
3.8 km NW of Hab on Mid Ridge Planitia along Copernicus Hwy.

Transit Mode:
ATV (x2)

Objectives:
Continue soil gas analysis geological research. 4 more holes bored and
soil gas and temperature measurements taken. Also visited site of large
gypsum deposits and collected samples.

Lessons Learned:
There are some BIG pieces of gypsum out there! Mostly at the top of
hills.

Taking videos while driving hand-shift ATV makes it hard to shift. It
also causes cameras to become clogged with dust, causing problems for
zoom lenses.
