Alors on a été demandé d’écrire ce journal en français parce que tout le groupe est canadien!

Aujourd’hui (le 6 fevrier), notre rituel petit déjeuner s’est complete avec du délicieux pain au beurre et Nutella cuit par Cheryl hier soir. Ces plats riches en matière gras et cholestérol, nous encouragent de faire encore plus d’activités extra véhiculaire (EVA) ! Arthur et John se sont dirigés vers la vallée Lith Canyon pour explorer les terrains intéressants nécessaires pour faire les recherches en géologie, biologie et étude de l’eau. L’expédition a été un très bon succès, et au retour John nous a fortement recommandé de toujours aller à la toilette avant un EVA!

Entre temps, le groupe d’ingénieurs est resté sur place pour fixer les problèmes de générateur et le très fameux Xantrex, quand même des succès, Bravo gang!

Cette après midi, il y a eu deux autres activités extra véhiculaires.

Perry, Anna, Nasim et John ont monté le fameux Radio Ridge (deux fois!) pour mesurer la distance entre l’habitat et le sommet afin de pouvoir installer le câble d’internet dans un future très proche ;)

En même temps, Cheryl et Kerry se sont dirigés vers un site pour mener leurs expériences scientifiques ; apparemment le chemin habituel était fermé et ils ont du faire un chemin quatre fois plus long. Arrivés à 1/4 du site, ils ont réalisé que peut de temps leur restait, alors ils ont du retourner ! Mais ça été un très bon pratique pour tester leurs instruments et les différents manœuvres avec ATV ;)

So today (February 6th) we decided to we decided to write a French journal since the entire crew is Canadian. And of course we must translate for our American friends J.

This morning’s breakfast ritual was topped off with some delicious fresh bread that Cheryl baked last night, smothered with Nutella. These high fat and cholesterol foods encourage us to increase our level of activity on our extravehicular activities! Arthur and John headed out to the Lith Canyon to explore interesting terrains necessary for geological and biological studies. It was a success and upon return, John strongly recommended we go to the washroom BEFORE an EVA next time.

In the mean time, the engineers stayed on site to fix the reoccurring generator and the ever-famous Xantrax, with some success!

Two EVAs were performed in the afternoon. Perry, Anna, Nasim, and John climbed Radio ridge (twice), to measure the distance to the habitat to eventually, hopefully in the near future, install an Internet cable. Cheryl and Kerry on the other hand headed off to another site for their scientific experiments. Apparently the usual route was closed, so they venture on a detour four times the original distance. After about a quarter of the way, they realized dusk was approaching, so they turned around! But it turned out to be a good practice for maneuvering the ATV’s with their equipment mounted on them.
