Log Book for February 27, 2007
Commander's Check-In
Melissa Battler Reporting
Crew Physical Status: Getting tired from lots of tired work; otherwise fine & dandy. One crew member still suffering from foot injury.
Time Departed/Returned from EVA: N/A; too rainy & windy out today
Brief Narrative of Field Mission Results: N/A
Plans for Tomorrow: Very short morning EVA with Bruno (reporter from Discover Magazine), then drive in to Hanksville to participate in FMARS Science Advisory Group telecon. Afternoon will include a crew road-trip to round-out our last day together as a crew, before our Wilderness First Aid instructor arrives on Thursday. We are still discussing logistics… We may drive to Canyonlands National Park to visit Upheaval Dome impact crater and do some impact-crater geology orientation for FMARS, but we're not sure if we'll have time. If we feel that we won't have time, we may just stay here and work, or take a short road trip to Little Wild Horse Canyon. We'll try to decide tonight, but worst-case, we'll email Mission Support before we leave tomorrow.
Report Transmission Schedule: Engineering Report by 7:00. Commander's Check-in by 7:30. Journalist Report and Daily Photos by 8:00 pm. Video log will be late.
Maintenance: none.
EVA Narrative/Data/Interpretations: N/A
Inventory: Supplies adequate.
Miscellaneous: The new stairs look great, and feel very stable & safe! We spent some time this morning cleaning up after the construction, then welcomed our FMARS Human Factors Sleep Study Expert, Marc, who briefed us on the FMARS sleep study. We spent the afternoon discussing more FMARS safety and logistics, and welcomed Bruno, a reporter from Discover Magazine. Both visitors will be staying with us tonight.
Support Requested: none
