Commander's Check-In
Melissa Battler Reporting
Crew Physical Status: High spirits, happy, and healthy! One crew member still suffering from foot injury.
Time Departed/Returned from EVA: EVA-4, 10:30-12:30
Brief Narrative of Field Mission Results: EVA team performed field sampling following Sklar Field Documentation Methodology (FDM), and tested polar bear safety protocol.
Plans for Tomorrow: Morning will be spent doing FMARS planning and more safety training drills. Afternoon EVA to a sampling site; location TBD. Sleep study researcher and a Reporter from Discover Magazine will be joining us tomorrow.
Report Transmission Schedule: Commander's Check-in by 7:00. Journalist Report, EVA Report, Science Report, and Science Data (via Discourse) by 8:00pm. Daily Photos by 9:00 pm. Video log, HSO Report, and Engineering Report will be late (due to construction of stairs).
Maintenance: Construction of new stairs.
EVA Narrative/Data/Interpretations: Crew members successfully collected samples and continued to work out the role of the out-of-sim EVA team member for FMARS. Several polar bear drills were conducted during the EVA.
Inventory: Supplies adequate. Received Mountain House shipment today!
Miscellaneous: Things are going well, but we have a ton of work to do still! We're all very thankful to have these 2 weeks together to prepare for FMARS.
