Notes/Comments: AT4 float sensor was adjusted for optimal operation eliminating human intervention. Water Hyacinths thinned out and unhealthy ones removed. Filters in the recirculation system were changed out. There are three filter canisters from left to right - unlabeled, pleated, and fiber. The fiber one was replaced with a new fiber filter. There was a fiber filter in the pleated canister that looked ok and was left in place because there were no replacement pleated filters. The large canister had a very clogged pleated filter. Olathe thought this filter was supposed to have a larger carbon filter. There were two large plastic filters a blue and a white one. The white one was installed. See the Web Dev photo for documentation (to be posted later this evening).

GreenHab:

Notes/Comments: Fuel samples taken for ATV-1, ATV-2 and Refueling Station. ATV-1 & ATV-2 fuel found to be contaminated with rust and water. Refueling Station sample appears to be clear and contaminant free. M057.070208.ENG.00012 submitted with photographs and details. Three minutes into the afternoon EVA (EVA-3), ATV-1 started backfiring with black smoke from the exhaust and running rough (choke was fully open), so Crewmember pulled over. When stationary and idling with no additional throttle from the Crewmember, the ATV stalled. Crewmembers discussed options, contacted Engineering to confirm pre-EVA status and that this condition was recently identified on this ATV. During this discussion ATV-2 was idling in neutral. When put in gear and throttled, it did not respond, but continued running. Choke was fully open. Crewmember shut off & attempted to restart ATV, and although engine would idle very slowly, it wouldn't start properly. Grinding sounds were heard when shifting gears on ATV-2. Decision was made by Commander Mulegeta and Field Engineer Shelaga to conduct a Recovery EVA (EVA 3.5). Recovery team proceeded on foot to disabled ATV, and attempted to restart. ATV 2 was restarted, and used to tow the disabled ATV 1 back to the Hab. Both ATVs were run this morning, with ATV-1 idling slow and open choke required. Request troubleshooting assistance.

Miscellaneous Infrastructure:

HVAC: Nothing further to report.

Mars Surface Suits: MSS-3/PLSS-3, MSS-4/PLSS-4 and MSS-6/PLSS-6 used on a 3.0 hour biology/geology EVA. Radio R05 intermittent squelching, precautionary removal. Helmet-2 PTT switch dried with compressed air, rewrapped and checked serviceable. Helmet-5 PTT switch dried with compressed air, rewrapped and checked serviceable.

Computers/Networking Infrastructure: Nothing further to report.

Appliances: Nothing further to report.

Data Logger: Nothing further to report.

Upgrade Work: Started prepping the area to mount three new DC/DC converters. Retrofitted the air duct line pump assembly. Drilled a hole on the bottom of the pump to be able to pump all gray water from the air line. Glued a patch over the original inlet. See WebDav photo for documentation (to be posted later this evening).

Notes/Comments: Have not gotten the fresh water pump going yet. There is not power to the lines. See questions on my projects e-mail sent earlier for more details. Distributed mouse poison. Installed two more large coat hooks on the wall beside the EVA room door and stairs.
