Commander's Check-In
Lealem Mulugeta Reporting

Crew Physical Status: Today was especially exciting for the crew since it was our first day of sim and it was Jon's first EVA experience with sim suits. Jon is the only crew member who is not a MDRS veteran.

Time Departed for/Returned from EVAs: EVA-01 - Lealem, Jon, and Olathe, 10:15am – 12:00 pm, half way point between Radio Ridge and Skyline Rim. EVA-02 - Mellissa, Randall, and Danielle, 3:15 pm – 5:00 pm, Candor Chasma.

Brief Narrative of Field Mission Results: Two scouting EVAs were carried out for microbial surveying, regolith landform mapping and familiarization with field documentation methodologies.

Plans for Tomorrow: There will be two more scouting EVAs for additional microbial surveying, regolith landform mapping and familiarization with field documentation methodologies

Report Transmission Schedule: Engineering Report by 7:00 pm, Journalist Report, EVA reports, HSO Report, Daily Photos by 9:00 pm.

Maintenance: The air conduit which the grey water supply line routed to the toilet was flooded with grey water and had to be pumped out. Furthermore, the pump in the TFR1 tank was replaced, and the recirculation pump was separated from the irrigation timer to prevent wearing through plastic parts.

EVA Narrative/Data/Interpretations: Refer to EVA reports for details.

Food/Essential Supplies Inventory: Supplies are good.

Miscellaneous: None.

Support Requested: Running low on AA batteries for radios and white duct tape is needed.
