Log Book for February 3, 2007
Journalist Report
Brogan Hetrick Reporting

Today was ExGamma's last day at MDRS. We are all sad to be packing up to leave tomorrow. Our day has been filled with cleaning, final report writing, and finishing the super amazing ExGamma Fueling Dock. The engineering team is very pleased with the success of this project, and the rest of the crew was equally impressed. We even had a very official "Caution Tape" cutting ceremony, which was documented on today's commander's log. Anna was even given the full service treatment when she brought an ATV up to be our first customer.

Today's successes, and of course the fun, really sum up our entire experience here on Mars. We have all learned too much from each other, become so very close, and will treasure our time together always. It has been incredible to spend the past two weeks with such extraordinary people, who all share a passion for space and exploration. Each one of the ExGamma crewmembers are looking forward to continued involvement with Mars analogue research and sharing our common passion with as many others as we can.

From our first EVA to our last dinner together, we have worked together in an effort to better understand each other, our research, and how to live and work on Mars. Over the course of our mission, we have become a cohesive team, enabling us to complete a successful mission. In the words of one of our crew, "We are like a little family now." We will all miss each other and our Martian home, but our parting will only be temporary.

We would like to say thank you, too, Mission Support for everything they have done to help this mission be as wonderful as it has been. The crew also appreciates all the emails and encouragement from our families, friends, and supporters while we have been living our adventure here on Mars. So, for the final time for ExGamma; signing off from Mars, see you all back on Earth soon.
