Journalist Report
Brogan Hetrick & Cassie Marion Reporting

The morning started out with a team effort breakfast by Cassie, Seth and Brogan. The crew enjoyed the resulting crapes with cinnamon apples, enhanced by each others company around the table. Soon after breakfast, two EVAs left the habitat simultaneously as the crew pressed forward with the day's work.

Cassie and Adrienne left on two of the ATV's to explore Bob's Rock Garden. They had a wonderful time taking pictures and discovered a chert deposit. They even brought back some chert for each of the other crew members. While they were out exploring, Anna, Brogan, Ryan, and Seth began construction on the ATV refueling station. Work went well, but it was much harder then any of them thought it would be. Trying to build while wearing a space suit is tough work.

By the time Adrienne and Cassie returned from their adventure, Anna, Brogan, Ryan and Seth were ready to take a break for lunch. During lunch everyone shared the events of their day so far, and showed off all the great pictures they had taken. After a refreshing lunch, the construction team headed back out to continue the fuel station work, while John and Cassie went to tackle V'ger, our pressurized rover. The rover needed some work to make it ready for the trip to Salt Lake City to pick up our relief crew.

V'ger presented more than one challenge for our intrepid makeshift mechanics. First they had to figure out why the hood was jammed shut and then fix the hood latch. Second, they had to remove the leftover broken glass from the rear window and installed a window more makeshift than our mechanics. Finally, they had to determine why the back hatch wouldn't remain closed, but no worries, now they can't get it open.

All the while, Liz was working on her astronaut underwear data, which half the crew was wearing today. She decided that since she was stuck in the hab because of the astronaut performance monitoring watch she was wearing, she would bake some awesome peanut butter brownies for the crew. When everyone else returned to the habitat it was a wonderful surprise.

John is making stir-fry for dinner. The aroma is making the whole crews' mouths water in anticipation for another great meal.

So on that note, signing off from Mars. Another day has come and gone, but the adventure continues on.
