Commander's Check-In
Ryan Kobrick Reporting
Crew Physical Status: The crew is well rested and besides ATV breakdowns we are in great mental and physical shape.
Time Departed for/Returned from EVA: EVA-10: Ryan, Cassandra, and Adrienne, 2:20pm - 3:18pm to Lith Caynon.
Brief Narrative of Field Mission Results: EVA-10 attempted to go to Lith Canyon but ATV-1 lost power and rolled to a stop. The crew was unable to restart the ATV and towed the ATV back to the Hab using another ATV. It was successful rescue but all three ATV suffered similar problems. It is possible that the gas mixture affected the engines. The Engineering Team will further explore these problems.
Plans for Tomorrow: We plan to have the ATVs working for the afternoon so the crew is currently planning appropriate pedestrian EVAs. The lecture series will continue in the evening.
Report Transmission Schedule: Engineering Report and by 7:00, EVA Report, Journalistic Report, Biology Report, and Daily Photos by 9:00 pm.
Maintenance: The crew is working on the ATVs and expect to have the issues figured out by tomorrow. The filter in spacesuit Backpack-1 (PLSS) was cleaned and the airflow is much better.
EVA Narrative/Data/Interpretations: See EVA Report.
Food/Essential Supplies Inventory: Low on flavored crystals for drinks (plenty of ice tea crystals). New sponges are need in the kitchen. Faucet parts – pending. Low on ziplock bags.
Miscellaneous: none
Support Requested: All ATVs need a thorough inspection and tune up. Please see the Engineering Report.
