EVA Reports
Ryan L. Kobrick & Seth Koterba Reporting

EVA-07:
Ryan L. Kobrick

Time: 0952 - 1249
Site Location: Candor Chasma (Parking location - UTM 12S 052008 4251163)
Crew: Ryan, Cassie, Adrienne

Objectives: To study and sample geological and biological features at the Summerville formation.

Tasks Performed: 7 geological samples and 1 biological sample were taken. See Geological and Biological Reports for details.

Lessons Learned: We learned how big gypsum nodules can grow. This was the first ATV EVA for the crew and we determined that all three are safe for excursion as long as extra oil for ATV #3 is brought for the return trip.

EVA-08:
Seth Koterba

Time: 1445 - 1640
Site Location: Tank Wash (UTM 0519491 4253915)
Crew: Brogan, John, Seth

Objectives: Initial ATV EVA for this team and scouting mission for sites of scientific interest

Tasks Performed: Drove approximately 5km on the ATVs and than explored the surrounding area on foot.

Lessons Learned: Fogging in helmet face shields seems to be caused by air not blowing directly on the face shields. We will try to fix the direction of air flow in the helmets for future EVAs.
