Geology Report
Kyoichi Sasazawa Reporting

Geological EVA toward Muddy Creek Outcrop, 6.2 km northwest of Hab.

We observed a middle to upper section of the upper Jurassic Morrison Formation. The upper part of the outcrop consists of reddish mudstone, purple mudstone, white sandstone and conglomerate. It is variegated. The lower to middle part consists of brown mudstone, light gray sandstone and coarse sandstone. We can conclude that the outcrop exposes the Salt Wash Member to the Brushy Basin Member.

We took pictures and collected rock samples on the top of the outcrop. One of the samples is boulder size and black in color, which contains abundant vesicles and feldspar. These features show basaltic to andesitic volcanism.
