Crew: Elia, Petra, Mark

Objectives: Drill a couple of holes for Mark, scout out a section of trail for salt samples, and collect samples from around the hab.

Unfortunately, Mark's ATV wouldn't start and so Elia and Petra had to go on their own. While they were gone, Mark tested a few sites around the Hab with his drill. There was a reason none of the optimum drill sites picked were around the hab - there was very little dirt and none of the holes Mark drilled went more than 50cm down. When the ATV team returned, they all roamed around and picked up the samples that have been outside for the 2 weeks, measuring UV radiation and seeing how halophile archaea fare in the Utah sun. Once all the samples were retrieved, the crew entered the hab, thinking "I'm glad I'll never have to put those stinky gloves on again."
