Log Book for April 30, 2003
Commander's Summary
Brent Bos Reporting

Today the crew supported another EVA. Dave Scott was the EVA leader again. He, Simone and Joan covered about 20 km in 3 hours and 22 minutes on ATV. The primary goal of the EVA was a general recon of the area and to search for biology samples for Elia. The EVA team was back in the Hab by 2:00 this afternoon. The rest of the crew is anxious to see the pictures they took.

I was finally able to find some time to get my optical dust monitor working. Unfortunately it needs a bit more work so that I can use it as part of the Hab dust contamination study.

The crew is in good spirits but is rather tired. Most are sitting around on the upper deck making small talk, checking email and snacking. Most are finding it hard to meet the 1 hour exercise simulation protocol.

I will be pushing for an early dinner time tonight so that we can have our evening meeting at 7:00 instead of the normal 8:00. That way the crew will be rested for yet another planned +3 hour ATV EVA tomorrow.
