EVA-4 Report
Mark Moran & Dave Scott Reporting

EVA CMDR: Dave Scott, Crew geologist
EVA CREW: Simone Kosul, Joan Roch, Dave Scott
HABCOMM: Mark Moran

Today's geology/biology goals were to look for halophile organisms and to find some recent dust deposits. As for the latter goal, no samples were collected since we ran out of time and the halophile environment search took priority. We did manage to pick up some salt samples at various locations west of the Hab and along Skyline Rim. We were hoping to find salt deposits in river ways and washes, but could only find small salt patches in random open places. The first few samples were within a couple hundred meters of an intermittent stream and the others were close to Skyline Rim, just at the bottom of the slope in the soft weathered material eroded off the cliff face. One of the Skyline Rim samples was taken near a crew 5 salt sample (thanks for the info by the way - you know who you are). Hopefully the samples contain the halophile organisms Elia and Simone are looking for.
