Commander's Report
Brent Bos Reporting

Today was quite a productive day and we moved closer to full simulation mode.

The biology team performed an EVA in full simulation mode this morning. A 2 hour 21 minute, 2 km long pdedestrian exercise to deploy the various biology experiments around the Hab. Getting the experiments ready took longer than expected and the suit up was delayed by about an hour. They made up for this though rather quickly by completing their first ever EVA suit up in an hour! The team came together wonderfully to make this happen. Thank you to the folks who made the suit-up checklist!

I was able to get my first dust contamination data point from this EVA. The crew only brought in about 1 gram of Martian soil on their suits and equipment. We'll see how tomorrow's crew does.

Mark Moran and Dave Scott were able to practice today with their drill equipment out of simulation to their satisfaction. Everything is beginning to settle down now and we will be going into full simulation mode tomorrow around Noon. Everyone is healthy again and has become comfortable with the ATV's. We will be doing another pedestrian EVA tomorrow to get the rest of the team familiar with operations in the suits. This time it will be geology orientated. We'll see if the geologists can beat the biologists' suit up time.

Our power supply has been constant and the toilet facilities have been doing their job. Morale is good and we are happy to be here.

A more detailed narrative report of the day's events will follow in a few hours.
