Each day the upper deck is converted into the EVA support room; today Kim (left) and Jeff (standing with Rick by the stairs) have joined us, as we prepare to include the ERA (Boudreaux) in the scenario. Everyone comments how comfortable the upper deck has become as a working place, with food and staterooms right at hand. |

Bill Clancey's mixer set up: Audio during EVAs is recorded on a mini-disk (MD) with inputs from the HabCom computer speech output, the Ron van Hoof's radio exchange with support personnel on the scene (using NASA-provided radios, with a regular microphone coming from the left), and GMRS radio from the astronauts (inset). Output also goes to powered stereo speakers. |

Nathan Howard wear's the JSC's team "infopack," which provides differential GPS for precise tracking the ERA. Kim Shillcutt monitors the location from a laptop in the hab. |

After the geologist-astronauts, Abby and Brent, have named a location, Boudreaux is commanded to go to that location (completed by teleoperation in the hab). Abby then says, "Take a picture of me," and it is automatically sent back to the HabCom computer for storage and emailing. |

Nathan and Rob Hirsh monitor Boudreaux's return to the hab. Moments later they hit the emergency halt as it came too close to the hill. |

Ron van Hoof, master Brahms programmer, system czar, and the world's best Java programmer, joins Maarten and Bill for a group photo. Ron, Maarten, and Bill have worked together on Brahms since 1994. |
