Log Book for March 30, 2003
Commander's Check-In
Bill Clancey Reporting

Time: 18:20

Weather: high of 21.7c, clear, some wispy cirrus on the north horizon

Crew Physical Status: Clean, busy, and happy.

Brief Narrative of Field Mission Results: We started moving into the hab about 10am. We have established our wireless network and Epson CX5000 printer/scanner. HabCom computer has been installed to serve as the MDRS hub for the mobile agents field tests. An audio mixer combines HabCom, the base radio, and a microsphone for annotations, with output to powered speakers and MD recorder.

The ERA group (JSC) has been preparing the robot for tests. RIALIST voice commanding group has been working with Brahms modelers to finalize the fully scripted protocol for initial tests. Geologists were briefed on biosensors. GRC (Glenn) brought satellite dish-trailer to MDRS site without mishap. CDR and geologists took an initial 2.5 hour traverse (out of sim) to establish baseline for exploration and sampling practices.

Plans for Tomorrow: We will begin connectivity tests in a sequence of progressive EVAs.

Report Transmission Schedule: Reporting will begin officially tomorrow.

Maintenance: All systems are operating normally.

EVA Narrative/Data/Interpretations: NA

Inventory - Food supplies: First bread making didn't work. We are concerned that the unlabeled flour in the drawer labeled "bread flour" is not bread flour. Couldn't find standard measuring spoons (only 1/3rd teaspoon).

Miscellaneous: None.
