Commander's Report
David Fuller Reporting
Today was a rest day for the crew. The only science performed was Derek's pedometer motion studies. Oddly, the two old guys, myself and Jody, racked up the highest scores. The Everest Rover was refueled, and the big blue MDRS truck (a 1983 Ford F350 pickup with dual cab) was swept out and straightened up.
We tried to trouble shoot a tail light problem on the truck, but the wind and dust made being next to the ground unbearable. We also had problems restarting the generator on the rover. Apparently we failed to shut it down properly and although the engine starts and runs, no power is getting to the outlets. We had some online discussions with the rover support people, and will try trouble shooting again tomorrow.
The whole crew went together to Lith Canyon to enjoy the view. All in all, this was a good day to rest.
