General Engineering Report
Derek O'Keeffe Reporting
Generator/Electricity: The gasoline generator was filled at 0630 and again at 1800. This generator continues to be the main source of power for the Hab - today the generator popped its circuit breakers twice for no apparent reason - usual loads were applied. Therefore we ran a second lead from the Rover to supply power to the Hotplate in the Habs galley. The intermittent behavior of the gasoline generator could be because it was not meant to run for 18hrs a day continuously and we have no history of when its last servicing was done.
Water: Transferred 45 gallons at 12.30pm
Telescope: Nothing done with it at present - we will investigate it during our tour of duty.
Everest Rover: The Rover generator has been running all day, no problems.
Computers: All machines and networks are running well.
Additional Activities: Crew XV carried out two EVAs today, to identify any features of the geological Dakota formation within a 2 km radius of the Hab. All equipment performed well - with the usual intermittent working of the headsets. Also the platypus water hydration systems were sterilized and used on the second EVA mission.
The bad odor reported by previous crews from the galley has also been remedied.
