General Engineering Report
Matt Bamsey Reporting
Note: All three assigned engineers were away from the hab again today, participating in a study of the Everest rover.
Generator/Electricity: The generator was checked early this morning. The Hobbs meter read 2616.2 hrs and for the first time the amperage actually should a value besides being at approx zero. Numerous checks to see if it is still giving an appropriate reading will be carried out tomorrow. Oil was also added.
Propane: At 0645 hrs the tanks measured: South 59%, North 33%, Furnace 68%.
Water: Refill of the internal tank at 2130 hrs from 6 - 55 gallons. Note- it seems that the refill this morning was not recorded. We'll try to determine if these values were actually taken.
GreenHab: No progress made.
Everest Rover: Taken on day long EVA. Many suggestions raised on design improvements. More formal reports pending.
ARES Rover: No progress made.
Datalogger: No progress made.
Additional Activates: The fully recharged suits performed perfectly battery/fan wise with no concerns during the day long Everest sortie with many on foot EVAs. A MDRS bubble helmet was damaged during an EVA today by a bungee cord that is used to hold the ladder for entry into the Everest airlock. The elastic flung back an put a hole around eye level with the approximate size of a nickel.
