Journalist Report
Andy Fankauser Reporting

Coprates Triangle (Aka Hanksville, Utah) - Crew 13 has over comed all kinds of problems to complete their first full week at MDRS. Despite continous problems with the Greenhab, successes can be found else where around the station. Two more drilling EVAs were successfully completed as well as a recovered heart rate monitor that had been lost some days earlier. Heike and Klaus also covered the fresh water piping to the Hab in heat insolating material. This will dramatically increase the odds of the pipes not freezing in the almost daily (and nightly) freezing temperatures.

On a more public outreach note, a TV crew accompaning Tom and Patrick, got stuck which required the pausing of the simulation and the aid of the astro-pioneer Patrick. Although the attention of the news media is greatly appreciated, it has been asked that the members of news crew take a more third person approach and to try to reduce direct action with the crew.

Horst Gehrmann, the first "space sick" astro-pioneer, is thankfully returning to regular rotation at the station after a week of battling the flu. Even though he must back trips back and forth from the MDRS to Hanksville, Horst's efforts and services are being put to use in the logistics divison of the crew. The wishes and hopes of mission support staff and Mars Society members go out to Horst Gehrmann on a complete recovery and a speedy return to the ranks of those serving at MDRS.
