EVA-12 Report
Tom Dirlich Reporting

Task of EVA 12 was to scout for new sampling locations and interesting sites in the east of the hab. At 3.20 pm Diel and Dirlich took of from the Hab on ATV. The trip into the hill in the East offered a wonderful view of the valley below.

The Team traveled to up the pass and the climbed to a peek were they could do a 360 deg survey. It was decided to travel further East towards Skyline rim. The trip went well and the Team drove on till a small bay in the Rim. Here we inspected more closely the rock formations and the soil and took several small samples.

The Team tried to establish contact with Habcom by climbing a nearby hill but the distance was to great. The Team decided to return to the Hab due to the diminishing light conditions. The Team arrived back at the Hab at 5.15 pm. The fogging problems in the helmets did not appear again, because the helmets were treated with a soap rub.

The EVA Team was accompanied by a German TV team in a SCV truck. They documented in detail the ongoing of the EVA.
