Log Book for February 6, 2003
General Engineering Report
Tom Dirlich Reporting

Generator/Electricity: There were small differences between the data measured in the morning than to the evening:

We have measured at 8:15 a.m.

Voltage little bit higher 255 VAC. Amperage also is steady at 16 amps. Frequency 62 Hertz and DC volts steady at 14.2 VDC.

We have measured at 8:15 p.m.

Voltage steady 250 VAC. Amperage also is steady at 4 amps. Frequency 62 Hertz and DC volts steady at 14.2 VDC.

Propane Tanks: #1 tank (North side) has moved from 62% to 60% in 24 hours of use. #2 tank (South side) has diminished to 55% from 45% in the same period. The furnace tank now is at 80%, measured at 8:15 p.m.

Water: The water tank is currently at 18 gallons after a minor filling last at 9:15 a.m. The outside tank is almost nearly full. So the current consumption was 18 gallons in a time of approximate 24 hours.

Additional Activities: The pipe from the fresh water tank inside to the Habitat was frozen, so we could not refill the inside tank of the Habitat at the planed time. Few hours later, when the sun shone down to the pipe, we were able to refill the tank.

Tomorrow we want to isolate the pipe.

On the first view we believed that we have found a solution for the problems with the Greenhab. We opened the white valve inside of the Habitat and a few seconds later the water began to flow into tank no. 5.

This nearly worked all the day, until this evening, but the same problem has occurred once again. So we switched off the pump. Maybe the loss occurs because of the cold, or something plugs the pipes. We need to think about that problem tomorrow.
