The red, green and blue flag of the Mars Society flies outside its Mars Desert Research Station on Sunday. An ATV outside the facility is used to explore the surrounding area and conduct field experiments.

A new crew arrives Sunday for a two-week stay at the Mars Desert Research Station near Hanksville, Utah. Crew members are Dr. Vladimir Pletser, Jan Osburg, Dr. Nancy B. Wood, Andrea Fori, David Real and Dr. William J. Clancey.
