Greg takes a reading from the EM sounder 4.5 km directly north of the Hab.

The 15 km trail to Coal Mine Wash led us through winding and rough roads in the Morrison Formation dubbed 'Barsoom Outcrops.'

The 'Barsoom Outcrops' are a spectacular example of the Brushy Basin Member of the Morrison formation.

EVA 21 crossed over lower Cretaceous shales on their way to coal mine wash, the furthest EVA destination from the MDRS Hab to date.

Greg attempts to radios Habcom and relays GPS coordinates from Coal Mine Wash.
