Dr. Adam Steltzner, Phase Lead and Development Manager for Entry, Descent and Landing of NASA's Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission, will speak at the 15th Annual International Mars Society Convention in Pasadena, California, August 3-5, 2012. Much of Dr. Steltzner's talk will focus on the new landing system to be used by MSL minutes before arriving on the surface of the Red Planet on August 5th.
In 2003, Dr. Steltzner served as the Entry, Descent and Landing Mechanical Systems Lead for the Mars Exploration Rover mission. In addition, Dr. Steltzner studied at the University of California, Davis (B.S. Mechanical Engineering), the California Institute of Technology (M.S. Applied Mechanics) and the University of Wisconsin, Madison (Ph.D. Engineer Physics).
