The best way to stay involved with the Mars Society is to join your local chapter. The only way to get humans to Mars is to educate the public about how it can be done - starting right now - with the resources we currently have. Most public outreach carried out by the Mars Society is done through local chapters. Chapters reach out to the general public by organizing lectures and setting up informational tables and displays at public events.
In addition, chapters also cooperate with the educational institutions in their area from grade schools to universities. This provides the Mars Society with an opportunity to make it personal, answer questions and clear up misconceptions about a manned mission to the Red Planet.
