Log Book for May 9, 2006
Commander's Check-In
Kevin Sloan Reporting

Crew Status: The crew is in good conditions.

Hab Status: The Hab is in good conditions. The V'ger (MDRS mini-van/Pressurized Exploration Vehicle) has been taken "up-county" for alignment of its front end and replacement of the well-past-bald tires.

Daily Summary: Our imbedded reporter, Joanna, finished her 24 hours on Mars this morning. Since then it has been a day of steady work. More work on the Penn State rover should have it back out in the field for advanced testing tomorrow. A late afternoon EVA is currently finishing up. This is the first in a short series of structured EVAs designed to teach crew members about the processes that will be required on various EVAs. Hopefully these EVAs will give an advanced insight into the opportunities for human-machine interaction to assist future planetary exploration.

Report Transmission Schedule: Tonight's reports should be in by 2100 (aside from the EVA Report as the EVA is still underway).

1. Commander's Check-In (this report) - Kevin Sloan
2. Commander's Log - Kevin Sloan
3. Engineering Report - Tim Serge
4. GreenHab Report - Alex Baldowski
5. EVA Report - Joe Sapp
6. Rover Report - Amy Blank

Support Requested: None tonight. All is well here on Mars.

Kevin Sloan
Commander, MDRS Crew 50
