Engineering Report
Richard Alena Reporting
Generator/Electricity:
Casper Hobbs Meter: 50 hrs (+20 hrs since yesterday)
Voltage: 121 VAC
Frequency: 57 Hz
Oil Level: full
Oil Pressure: NO VALUE SUPPLIED
Water Drained: no
Notes/Comments: This refers to "Wilhelmina" the Honda generator backup from Stan via Don Foutz. (aka Stan, SamGee!) We did blow the breaker on the SamGee again, we are running near its 20A rating, so this was not considered significant. Heat seems to be a factor, breaker was in full sun. Oil change performed at about 50 hrs ops at 18:00 today, runs well.
Wendy: not used
Xantrex Inverter/Dynasty Batteries:
Time - Voltage (Temp Comp) - Load - Temp - Generator Running?
19:00 23.2 VDC 12 A 28 C yes
Fuel Status (as of 19:07):
Diesel: Approximate Reading - 5/8
Notes/Comments: not used
Propane Tank: Approximate Reading - 41% (410 gallons = 1552.0 L)
Gasoline: Quantity Remaining - 10 gallons = 37.9 L (-10 gallons since yesterday)
Notes/Comments: now including cans from trailer
Oil:
GenSet Quantity: 4 quarts (no change since yesterday)
ATV Quantity: 4 quarts (-1 quarts since yesterday)
V'ger Quantity: 12 quarts (no change since yesterday)
Notes/Comments: need more synth oil for Wendy, used last quart yesterday
Water Status:
Outside Potable Water Tank Level: 490 gallons = 1854.8 L
Trailer Potable Water Tank Level: 50 cm from the base
Potable Water Meter Reading: 10454.2 gallons = 39573.3 L (+67.3 gallons since yesterday)
Out to Toilet Meter Reading: 2966.2 gallons = 11228.3 L (+46.9 gallons since yesterday)
In to GreenHab Meter Reading: 17433.6 gallons = 65993.1 L (+200.8 gallons since yesterday)
Flushes: 10
Showers: 4
Sponge Baths: 0
Notes/Comments: No change in the GreenHab tanks. All show current water flow, and levels appear normal. We've been attempting to address the E. Coli odor problem by adding bleach to the TST daily, and changing the filters between the TST and the hab toilet tank. The toilet tank itself is a source of the odor, and adding bleach there helps for a short time. Currently exploring options for changing a 3rd filter in the TST recirculation system with the engineering support team. The TST level is low (about 1/2 filled) primarily due to our attempts to change the recirculation filter. The TST was refilling normally from Tank 5 when last checked.
GreenHab:
Crops Watered: yes
Crop Condition: Plants continue to improve.
Plants in Good Health: Unknown, two pots of Mint (the small mint plant has grown quite a bit), Nausturcium, Tomatoes, Chives, Peas.
Plants in Poor Health: 2 lettuce plants are recovering, but still very dry.
Notes/Comments: No change in the GreenHab tanks. All show current water flow, and levels appear normal. The odor from the TST remains quite stinky. An observant nose among the crew thought that was the odor associated with E. Coli. Adding bleach recommended by Mission Support
Transportation:
V'ger: Used - no
