Dr. Jan Osburg Reporting
Crew 48 has arrived and we just finished training them on the hab systems. They are glad to have finally arrived at MDRS and are looking forward to their three-week mission.
We enjoyed our final dinner (pizza and tuna salad, yum!) and are almost done packing our gear. One last upgrade item was taken care of today: we installed a 24-V emergency light in the staircase that is activated by a photo cell. One of Emily's friends built it and had it shipped to Hanksville just in time for us to install it. Thanks Mark!
As the new crew is settling in, Crew 47 is getting ready to leave. Tomorrow morning we'll load up our truck and then head back home, taking with us not just our research results, but also lots of happy memories of our two weeks at the hab. Thanks again to the Mars Society, mission support, our sponsors, and of course my wonderful fellow crewmembers for making it happen!
Signing off,
Jan Osburg
