Narrative (Jan): EVA06 took us north along Copernicus Highway to the old northernmost waypoint at Muddy River (WPT 237), and a few klicks beyond to the new "northernmost" waypoint at Sun Rock. We saw amazing rock formations on the way, lots of varied terrain, and a herd of Martian cattle. Every EVA member had an APRS beacon, and real-time positioning data was transmitted to the Internet. After almost five hours, we came back to the hab just in time to beat the rain.

Narrative (Anne): Today I was a Martian pioneer, or at least I felt like one. Today I saw landscapes and landforms that I didn't know could even co-exits. There were mountains, ridges, caves, hills, plains, and cows. I saw red, green, but no blue soil. We traveled all the way to the Muddy River and created a couple new way points on the way. The coolest part was that our positions were broadcast on the Internet during the entire trip. On the way back, we stopped to record a video for Jan's daughter and stopped to admire the new scenery. After five hours testing the "All Terrain" of the ATV's we returned to the HAB, completing another successful EVA.

Narrative (Jason): The EVA had the biggest feeling of exploration yet this far. We were gone for nearly five hours, yet the unmarked territory remained horizon to horizon. The fun thing about it was naming way points after family members. I named Byron's Ridge, Judy's Cave and Zecie's Vista.
