Hab Upgrade Report
Emily Colvin Reporting
Today being the day off was pretty slow. We've had Wendy running continuously out of a mild paranoia after yesterday and the day before, with the inverter set to float to maintain the charge of the batteries. However, I turned Wendy off this evening to check her oil and we did not experience the power surges we had previously when turning Wendy on and off. The AC1 on the newly-named Charles the inverter (reference to the Ang Lee's "The Ice Storm" [also what Jenny and Emily call each other - Ed.]) seems much more stable than the AC2, which is more support for the hypothesis that the AC2 board is fried.
I did get one thing crossed off my engineering dry-erase board - Jan and I pulled the cables for 12V DC power to Musk (and a Cat5, just because). The pull was pretty easy (I've never done a cable pull before, but we didn't have any problems). First we pulled paracord with the twine James had so kindly left in when he ran the conduit. Then Jan staggered the knots for the four cables and I started pulling. No problems at all, except that my arms are a little sore.
I'd originally planned to try to get the C40 12V DC power supply up and running today, but then a nap called (didn't sleep well last night courtesy of the wind and falling out of bed once), so it will wait for another day. Tomorrow will probably be power meter sensor installation now that our power is stable again.
