Commander's Check-In
Dr. Jan Osburg Reporting
Crew Physical Status: Apart from a few sore throats and scratches, everyone is doing well. desert climate, so we'll likely take it a bit slower tomorrow.
Brief Narrative of Today's Results: First EVA, balloons were launched (on static tethers since sponsor-provided robot and robot tether winch are inop), installed GSM on Wendy (but still inop as well - Don is investigating), first observations with Musk Observatory, finished engineering section cleanup.
EVA: see EVA report - first EVA for Jason and Jenny. We tested equipment and procedures for the radiation survey, the celestial navigation, and the radio/navigation research.
Plans for Tomorrow: finalizing setting up all the research gear, and do one EVA testing the ISRU procedures and comms via balloon-borne repeater.
Report Transmission Schedule:
- Today's engineering report has been transmitted via the web interface.
- The other reports (CDR, HSO, SCI, UPG, JNL, EVA) will be transmitted between 2000h and 2100h - sorry for the delay but today was very intense and we are just sitting down for dinner.
