Hab Upgrade Report
Emily Colvin Reporting

Today I spent mostly working on the computer network. I drew a diagram of the two hubs and the switch to figure out exactly where everything is going. I’ll get a diagram drawn for future crews so that they know where everything is going. I removed a cable running between the two hubs – there were two running parallel to each other into different ports. It seems to be running more reliably now, although a little slower (which may not be connected with that wire at all). Currently, it’s just unplugged at each end, but once I have more time to observe the network, I may remove it entirely. I also restarted the wireless access point which restored the wireless network and has made the crew much happier.

Don came out today with the GSM and showed us where it will be installed and gave us instructions on how to mount everything. He also showed us the basics for the Xantrex load controller, so hopefully we’ll get that up and running, although the GSM is our next priority.
