Log Book for March 20, 2006
Commander's Check-In
Dr. Jan Osburg Reporting

Crew Physical Status: Everyone is A-OK.

Brief Narrative of Today's Results: The planned balloon launch did not take place since the balloon equipment and the sponsor's representatives are still en route. Same for the Helium bottles. Since we will go into full sim tonight as planned, Don Foutz has offered to help transport the Helium from Hanksville to MDRS. The day was spent preparing our other research, unpacking the remaining gear, and reorganizing and improving the hab, Musk Observatory and GreenHab.

EVA: No in-sim EVAs today.

Plans for Tomorrow: Set up and launch the balloon system in the morning, then do the first in-sim EVA in the afternoon.

Report Transmission Schedule:
  • Today's engineering report has been transmitted via the web interface.
  • The other reports (CDR, HSO, SCI, UPG, JNL, EVA) will be transmitted between 1900h and 1930h.
Miscellaneous: Nothing to report.

Support Requested: Nothing is needed at the moment - we did find vacuum cleaner bags and breadmaker yeast at the hab, and were able to make a pre-sim logistics run to Hanksville for various last-minute purchases, e.g. ice cream :-)

More to follow.
