Hab Upgrade Report
Emily Colvin Reporting
Today I ran cat-5 cable to room 4, which leaves only room 1 without a cat-5 cable coming from the wall. Room 1 is close enough to the routers that a cable can be run under the doorframe. I will be replacing the RJ-45 connectors on the cat-5 cables in at least rooms 3 and 5 because they are not working well (one is missing the clip and doesn't connect well and on the other the insulation doesn't go all the way to the connector and it doesn't connect well either.
I set up my external hard drive as a shared drive to use as an internal server for reports and picture sharing. This is already proving useful, although we've discovered some weird quirks in the Hab network - the network does not work for all computers if the internet is down (which has happened a bit today due to weather). I'm not sure what causes this, but I'll be troubleshooting over the rest of our rotation. Also, we had wireless internet when we arrived, but it has since stopped working. I'll be restarting routers to see if that will restart the wireless.
Tomorrow or Tuesday, I expect to meet with Don and install the GSM (to allow the inverter to start the generator by itself). Depending on schedules and such, Anne and I will also get the shower recaulked and the hole patched as soon as possible.
