Commander's Check-In
Dr. Jan Osburg Reporting
Crew Physical Status: Everyone is A-OK.
Brief Narrative of Today's Results: Crew 47 took over the Hab from Crew 46 last night, moved their gear inside and did the HSO and safety briefings. Today after breakfast, Crew 46's Stacy and Todd took Crew 47 on a familiarization hike along the oyster fields west of Radio Ridge. In the afternoon, after a fire drill, the new crewmembers were trained on the ATVs. First improvements to the Hab were made and most of our personal and research equipment has been squared away. After dinner, we look forward to watching our first movie at the Hab.
EVA: Only out-of-sim EVAs today, thus no EVA report.
Plans for Tomorrow: We plan to set up the balloon system and the radio equipment, do some EVA suit training, and finish storing our gear and preparing for closed simulation, which will start after dinner tomorrow.
Report Transmission Schedule:
- Today's engineering report has been transmitted via the web interface.
- The other reports (CDR, HSO, SCI, UPG, JNL, EVA) will be transmitted between 1830h and 1930h.
Miscellaneous: Thanks to the outgoing crew for fixing dinner yesterday and training us today - we sure appreciated it!
Support Requested: We'd need a water refill and trash pickup within the next couple of days (Don has already indicated he would come out tomorrow). Propane, diesel and gas are fine. Don also has the GSM for the powerplant which we need to install.
More to follow.
