Engineering Report
Steven Winikoff Reporting
Generator/Electricity:
Casper: not used
Wendy Hobbs Meter: 2935.8 hrs
Voltage: 120 VAC
Frequency: 62 Hz
Oil Level: 7/8
Oil Pressure: 30 PSI
Water Drained: yes
Notes/Comments: Wendy is fully back to normal thanks to last night's transplant operation. The fuel leak is still with us, but it's much slower now, more or less back to what Ben remembers seeing from Crew 42.
Xantrex Inverter/Dynasty Batteries:
Time - Voltage (Temp Comp) - Load - Temp - Generator Running?
00:10 - 27.5 - 05 - 18 - on
00:17 - 24.8 - 05 - 18 - off
09:29 - 23.3 - 06 - 15 - off
09:45 - 26.1 - 08 - 15 - on
15:15 - 27.5 - 13 - 18 - on
15:20 - 24.7 - 12 - 18 - off
Notes/Comments: 13B was reset to 53 as per Paul's request. This was done at approximately 23:25 last night.
Fuel Status (as of 15:30):
Diesel: Approximate Reading - 7/8
Propane Tank: Approximate Reading - 75% (750 gallons = 2839.1 L)
Gasoline:
Consumed Today: 0 gallons = 0 L
Quantity Remaining: 33 gallons = 124.9 L
Oil:
GenSet Quantity: 0 quarts
ATV Quantity: 10.5 quarts
V'ger Quantity: 14.5 quarts
Water Status:
Outside Potable Water Tank Level: 280 gallons = 1059.9 L
Trailer Potable Water Tank Level: 0 cm from the base
Water Meter Reading: 7689.2 gallons = 29106.7 L
Water Consumed: 52.8 gallons = 199.9 L
Grey Water Used: 38.9 gallons = 147.3 L
Flushes: 10
Showers: 1
Sponge Baths: 0
Tonight's Meter Readings:
Out to Toilet: 1325.0 (+38.9 since yesterday)
In to GreenHab: 4260.1 (+1177.7 since yesterday)
Yesterday Leslie installed a check valve on the "in to GreenHab" meter. Last night that meter went back to recording an impossible volume of water, and tonight we've set a new record. No, the main hab is not floating back to SLC on a wave of 1100 gallons of water as I type this, so I'm left wondering whether the check valve could possibly have returned us to the previous state, or whether it's just that the reading two nights ago was an anomaly and that the meter really does need to be replaced altogether.
Meanwhile, between the internal tank (currently full) and the external tank (at 280 gallons), we have enough potable water to last for approximately 5.5 days at current usage rates. It might be kind to Crew 46 to schedule a delivery over the weekend. If we get a delivery on Saturday we can refill the tank for them.
GreenHab:
Crops Watered: yes
Crop Condition: No apparent change; the plants are still responding well to increased water.
Notes/Comments: Tank 3 was overflowing while the settling tank pump was running because the filter between Tanks 3 and 4 was clogged. Ben cleared the clog by removing the debris by hand.
Transportation:
V'ger: Used - no
Oil Checked: no
Fuel Consumed: 0 gallons = 0 L
Tire Status:
Kawasaki ATV 1: Used - yes
Oil Checked: yes
Fuel Consumed: 0.4 gallon = 1.5 L
Tire Status: good
Kawasaki ATV 2: Used - yes
Oil Checked: yes
Fuel Consumed: 0.4 gallon = 1.5 L
Tire Status: good
Kawasaki ATV 3: Used - no
Oil Checked: yes
Fuel Consumed: 0 gallons = 0 L
Tire Status: good
Notes/Comments: ATVs 1 and 2 were used for a training ride of approximately 25 minutes' duration.
HVAC: Nothing further to report.
Mars Surface Suits: The following were used today:
Suit 1/PLSS 1/Helmet 1
PLSS 3/Helmet 3, worn with a Sim Light suit
The rest of the crew wore Sim Light suits with Sim Light helmets and no packs. Suit 1 developed a new tear along the left crotch seam.
Computers/Networking Infrastructure: Nothing further to report.
Appliances: Nothing further to report.
Data Logger: Nothing further to report.
Upgrade Work: Ben installed a new web cam in the observatory, aimed so that it covers the exterior of the hab including the path to Main Engineering.
Notes/Comments: Nothing further to report.
